Earth’s Greatest Defender is created by Rémi Vansteelandt who is known for winning the js13kGames competition twice: in 2020 and 2023. The game itself is available in Early Access on Steam, and features a built-in level editor.
It’s a passion project that started in December 2021. It takes everything that we love about boomer shooters: fast paced action, loud weapons, tons of explosions, and a lot of obliterated aliens, all with the rhythm of a metal soundtrack. It is a game about shooting enemies in the most badass way possible.
Similar to the previously described games like Athena Crisis and CosmoPirates recently, this one also is built with Web technologies – instead of using available tools like Phaser, Remvst built his own game engine from scratch.
